Project registration is completely independent of Custom Package creation and ECU Project Configuration creation processes and can be done at any time. Project registration should always be the first step in a project. It does not require a license for the use of the DaVinci Package Manager.
Project registration is a prerequisite for all subsequent commercial processes:
- Purchase of support and coaching packages
- Request for review – send Vector the current project state for review of the components.
- Request for finalization/update of series project – get a binding quotation for a serial production license.
Only project name and main commercial and technical contacts need to be defined.
Note: It is currently not possible to change to project name anymore. Naming convention on customer side should be defined, e.g. ECU_OEM_Modelline. Not included in the project name should be the subproject like Appl or HSM.
Once the project is registered, it is indicated in the DaVinci Package Manager. A registered project has a unique VEP-xxxxxxxx number further on used to identify the project in the communication with Vector on all levels.
