DaVinci Developer Adaptive provides Generic Editors and Comfort Editors to support you. This page describes the general editor functions. Note that some of the functions are not required in some editors and are therefore not available there.

For editor-specific functionalities, refer to the help page of the respective Generic Editors or Comfort Editors.
Toolbar
The toolbar on the top right of an editor may provide the following features:
Form or
DML: Switches between the Details Modes for an element that is selected in the tree view on the left side of the editor.
Help: Opens the help page of the corresponding editor.
Synchronization Status: Shows the synchronization status of the object displayed in the editor. The icon switches to
when the contents are about to be synchronized to the model or to
in case the contents could not be synchronized due to issues in the contents.
The toolbar on the left side of an editor may provide the following features:
Expand: Expands the tree on the left side of the editor.
Collapse: Collapses the tree on the left side of the editor.
Create: Click this icon and follow the wizard that opens to create the respective element.
Note that for some editors, such as Software Cluster Editor, the wizard that opens depends on the root level element selected in the tree view.Delete: Click this icon to delete the element selected in the tree view.
Context Menu Commands
The context menu of elements in the DaVinci Developer Adaptive editors may provide the following features:
Split to File...
When AUTOSAR elements or packages are split, all parts of the selected elements are split to the selected file. To only split parts of a selected element, use this command in the DaVinci Project Explorer.- When AUTOSAR elements are split, a copy of the elements with short name are created. The complete AUTOSAR path of the split elements is kept and analogously recreated under the selected target file. Other attributes are not copied. Note that AUTOSAR elements can only be split to ARXML files that do not already contain the element.
- Click the context menu command
Split to File... to split the selected element(s) to another file. The Split Element to File dialog opens where you can specify the file to which the element(s) should be split. Activate the check box Split recursive to also split all splitable child elements. Click to split the element(s) to the selected file.
Move to File...
When AUTOSAR elements or packages are moved, all parts of the selected elements are moved to the selected file. To only move parts of a selected element, use this command in the DaVinci Project Explorer.- Click the context menu command
Move to File... to move the selected element(s) to another file. The Move Element to File dialog opens where you can specify the file to which the element(s) should be moved. Click to move all parts of the element(s) to the selected file.
