This page guides you on how to enable and use the feature to open a system folder or single files in DaVinci Developer Adaptive to be able to view and modify any AUTOSAR arxml files contained in that folder.
Enable feature
To enable this feature, select the option "Add Open in DaVinci Adaptive to Context Menu" located in the help menu of DaVinci Developer Adaptive.
- This will add the running instance of DaVinci Developer Adaptive as an application that can be used to open folders and files.
- The currently selected workspace will be used when DaVinci Developer Adaptive is launched that way.
Feature usage
After enabling the feature, it will be possible to open a folder containing arxml files or single files directly in DaVinci Developer Adaptive from the right-click context menu. If DaVinci Developer Adaptive is already running, the folder will be opened in that instance; otherwise, a new instance will be started, and the folder will be opened.
When a folder is opened with this feature, it will only be added temporarily to the workspace and will be removed when the application is closed. Any changes and new files added to the folder will remain after closing DaVinci Developer Adaptive. As temporary project will not be persisted in the workspace, it is not possible to add temporary projects as dependencies to other projects in the workspace.
If the folder to open contains a DaVinci Developer Adaptive project, the project importer will be opened instead of just opening the folder.
Known limitations
- Multiple folders: It is not possible to open multiple folders at once in DaVinci Developer Adaptive. Only the first folder will be opened, and an error will occur for each of the other folders.
- Operating system: This feature only works and is enabled on Linux.
- File explorer support: This feature will only work together with file explorers supporting the Freedesktop standard.
