For the correct usage of the DaVinci Developer Adaptive, some settings must be made in the workspace preferences.

To make these settings, open the menu path Window | Preferences and specify as follows:

General Settings

General | Workspace

Activate the Refresh using native hooks or polling check box. This option enables the automatic reload of files in the projects inside the workspace and updates the AUTOSAR models of the projects automatically whenever the underlying sources are changed.

notice

This option is optional but strongly recommended.

DaVinci Adaptive Settings

DaVinci Adaptive

Activate the check box Don't ask again for native hooks or polling if you do not want to be asked to activate Refresh using native hooks or polling every time you open a project. This applies only, if the option Refresh using native hooks or polling in General | Workspace is not activated.

With the button [Extract...], you can export the Schema files (XSD) of the supported AUTOSAR versions.

DaVinci Adaptive | DaVinci Modeling Language

The DaVinci Modeling Language page lists all Active Filters set for the DaVinci Modeling Language. You can remove filters by selecting one or more filter and clicking the [Remove] button.

It also contains the preferred language to display descriptions as comments. You can choose any language available in the dropdown menu. Any description in that specific language (default:EN) will be displayed as comment above the object. New comments will be created as a description in that language.

DaVinci Adaptive | License

The License page displays the tool version and license number.

DaVinci Adaptive | BSW Package

On the BSW Package page, you can add or remove MICROSAR Adaptive BSW Package paths. The MICROSAR Adaptive BSW Package contains (amongst others) the generators used by the DaVinci Developer Adaptive for deriving code and manifests from the AUTOSAR model. The DaVinci Developer Adaptive can also be used without a MICROSAR Adaptive BSW Package. You can specify as follows:

notice

When using the DaVinci Adaptive tooling together with a MICROSAR Adaptive BSW Package, it is important that the delivered folder structure of the BSW Package is not modified. Changes of the folder structure may result in undefined behavior since the DaVinci Command Line tool and the DaVinci Developer Adaptive assume default locations for generators and specific configuration files within the predefined structure.

DaVinci Adaptive | Performance

This Performance page contains all performance settings for the DaVinci Developer Adaptive. The larger and more complex a model becomes, the slower DaVinci Developer Adaptive may become. Features that slow down performance in this case can be enabled or disabled.

DaVinci Adaptive | Project Services

Under Project Services you can manage your autostart and favorite projects.

notice

Note: We recommend to limit the number of autostart projects to a maximum of five as a large number of autostart projects can slow down the startup of DaVinci Developer Adaptive.

DaVinci Adaptive | Telemetry

The Telemetry page contains information about the use of telemetry and the option to enable the data gathering. If the telemetry is predefined in the DvDevAdaptive.ini file, the Telemetry page will not be displayed.

notice

See also section Telemetry.

DaVinci Adaptive | Updates

The Updates page contains the option to enable the automatic searching and checking for newer versions of DaVinci Developer Adaptive. By enabling this feature DaVinci Developer Adaptive will automatically search for newer versions and present a notification if a newer version is found. On this page you can also select when the tool shall check for newer versions and how you want the notifications to be handled.

DaVinci Adaptive | Updates | Ignored Versions

The Ignored Versions page displays all versions that have been selected to be ignored when looking for updates for DaVinci Developer Adaptive. You can add additional versions to ignore by using the [New...] button or remove a version from this list by selecting a version and clicking the [Remove] button.

DaVinci Adaptive | Updates | Update Sites

The Update Sites page contains a list of all Update Sites that shall be used to check for updates of DaVinci Developer Adaptive. You can add additional Updates Sites that shall be used by the tool while searching for updates by using the [New...] button or remove an Update Site from this list by selecting an Update Site and clicking the [Remove] button.

Click [Apply and Close] to confirm the settings.
