Migrating Projects to DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 6
This section will give you an overview how to migrate your DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 5 projects into newer project structure.
The migration is essential if you are still working on a project in DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 5 and want to configure your ECU in DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 6.
Why You Need to Migrate?
Projects created with DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 5 are not compatible with DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 6 due to changes in both the project format and the file structure. In Version 5, project settings were stored in a single DPA file. In contrast, Version 6 uses a JSON-based structure, where configuration data is distributed across multiple JSON files.
The project migration tool converts a DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 5 project into the format required by the DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 6. It reads the content of the DPA file and distributes the configuration entries that are still relevant in DaVinci Configurator Classic Version 6 to several JSON files.
