Skeleton Model

DaVinci Developer Adaptive supports you in creating model elements using a bottom-up approach. If for example a reference target is missing, you can just start with the desired reference target and work your way up from there.

The created model element and its parents form an empty “skeleton model” that can be further modeled afterwards.

Skeleton Model Wizard

The Skeleton Model Wizard facilitates creating model elements and searching for matching parents.

The wizard first needs the MetaClass of the desired element. Based on the selected MetaClass the wizard automatically identifies matching parents and child-parent relations.

For instance, to create a new Service Interface Element, you choose the MetaClass Service Interface in the Skeleton Model Wizard. The wizard then searches for corresponding parents and child-parent relationships. After selecting a parent, the wizard generates the skeleton model of the desired element.

Open Skeleton Model Wizard

To open the skeleton-model-wizard Skeleton Model Wizard, click its skeleton-model-wizard icon.

Where the Skeleton Model Wizard can be accessed:

  • wizard wizards drop-down in the top right corner of the Project Frame

  • Reference input fields in the different Editors, for example: Machine Editor | Machine Design | Reference

  • reference Select Reference Target dialogs

Create Model Element

The information-outlined help notes in the wizard guide you through creating a new model element and its corresponding parents.

Deleting or changing the MetaClass or Parent of an added parent element will remove all added parents above that element in the wizard.

For example, you created a tree like this: target element < target_parent_a < target_parent_b < target_parent_c. If you delete target_parent_b, target_parent_c will also be deleted.
Basic steps:

  1. Select the MetaClass of the element you want to create, for example Xref or Process.

    If a parent was found, you can selection-dialogselect a parent.

  2. Choose or create a parent.

  3. Repeat step 1 and 2 until the top element AUTOSAR is connected to the target element. Missing parents are marked by ???.

  4. Select or create an ARXML file where your model element should be stored.

  5. Click Finish.

    The skeleton model of the element has been created. The new element can now be configured.
