DaVinci Configurator Classic

DaVinci Configurator Classic addresses the software integration phase of your MICROSAR Classic ECU project. It helps you with setting up connections between your Software Components (SWCs) and Basic Software (BSW) modules, ensuring that your ECU software system functions correctly and efficiently.

To realize this, DaVinci Configurator Classic provides a set of tools and features to configure, validate, and generate the BSW and the Runtime Environment (RTE).

SWC

Specifies application logic

BSW

Specifies reusable modules that

  • Parameterize ECU-generic functionality (like communication, diagnostics, measurement/calibration, memory, OS, etc.)

  • Provide drivers, services, abstraction layers wrapping hardware specifics

RTE

Specifies communication between SWCs and BSW modules

Use Cases

With DaVinci Configurator Classic, you can configure, validate and generate the BSW and RTE for your ECU project.

Configuration

To configure the BSW and RTE for your ECU project, DaVinci Configurator Classic provides a set of features and parameters.

BSW

To describe how the BSW behaves on your ECU, you can configure parameters of BSW modules via DaVinci Configurator Classic.

RTE

To describe how calls from SWCs to BSW modules (and vice versa) should be routed on your ECU (considering ports, events/runnables, services), you can configure the RTE via DaVinci Configurator Classic.

Validation

To validate the AUTOSAR compliance and consistency of your BSW and RTE module configurations, you can use the validation functionality of DaVinci Configurator Classic.

Regularly running validation is especially helpful to identify and resolve issues early in the development process.

Generation

To generate embedded code (source and header files) for successfully validated BSW and RTE module descriptions, you can use the generation functionality of DaVinci Configurator Classic. This allows you to run generators for BSW and RTE modules and external generators.

Features

To assist you with the software integration process and fit your project workflow needs, DaVinci Configurator Classic provides a variety of features.

Assisted Issue Solving

  • Hints and recommendations for solving issues with BSW and RTE module configurations

  • Automatic adjustments for solving issues with BSW and RTE module configurations (via single click in the graphical User Interfaces)

Customizable Generation

  • Customizable sequence of module generator runs

  • Integration of external generators

Automation and Scripting

  • Assistant tools that simplify the setup of DaVinci script projects

  • IDE support for script development and debugging
